SuperValu continue to be a major player in the Irish grocery industry. A contributing factor to their extended period of success is their ability and willingness to constantly modernise the shopping experience. With SuperValu being a brand synonymous with quality, local support, award-winning produce and a strong focus on consumer needs, this is an ethos which needs to be translated through all communication channels. There-in lies the primary challenge posed to us on a daily basis, produce communication materials for over 200 individually owned stores, while constantly maintaining SuperValu’s established brand credentials.

For over a decade we have worked closely with both the national and local marketing teams to develop a number of key campaigns and communication assets for everything from events, direct mail, point of sale and point of purchase to social media content, permanent signage and outdoor advertising. Defining a suitable look and feel, while obeying the constraints of the branding guidelines is an everpresent challenge and one that is unique to each individual project.

In our current principal role, we provide creative and implementation support to the local marketing team in a relationship that has spanned well over a decade. This involves producing communication matter for over 200 stores across Ireland, combining national brand messages and initiatives with real local retail issues. From outdoor to display advertising and the creation and implementation of full advertising campaigns, our relationship with SuperValu has involved telling their story through a wide range of media and with a varied focus.
